Greenwich Town Hall Wins Blood Drive Challenge

Greenwich Town Hall wins the Fairfield County Property Managers and Landlords Blood Drive Challenge for the second consecutive year.

recently received a plaque and certificate for coming out tops in the , organized by High Ridge Park Corporate Center in Stamford.

Out of nine participants in the 2011 Challenge — also including George Comfort & Sons and RREEF; RFR Realty; BLT; Ashforth; SL Green, Marcus Partners; Carter USA; Malkin Properties; CBRE; and Norwalk Town Hall — Greenwich Town Hall won, relative to its size, by achieving the highest level of participation and thus, the greatest quantity of blood donated.

It was the second year in a row that Greenwich Town Hall won the blood drive benefiting the , according to a release. This year’s challenge raised 388 productive pints of blood.

“Since 2006, the Challenge has raised 1,812 pints of blood and, with each year, continues to grow and serve the community,” said Joan Bennett, district manager/donor services, American Red Cross, in the release. “We are fortunate to have High Ridge Park’s support with this initiative and are thankful for their involvement with American Red Cross.”

“The donation results demonstrate the impact that our government representatives, landlords and property managers can have in helping our local communities,” said Jodi Gutierrez, VP of property management for George Comfort & Sons and On-Site Property Manager of High Ridge Park Corporate Center. “We are very pleased with this year’s results and want to thank the participants, many of whom have been supporting this initiative from its inception.”

Due in part to recent storms and power outages in the region that have disrupted blood drive schedules, the American Red Cross has had a tough year, with donations at record lows.

According to a local listing there is a Red Cross Blood Drive at Temple Sholom, 300 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich Court, from 1 to 6 p.m., today, Nov. 7.
