Happy St. Patrick's Day—Greenwich Style

The Greenwich Senior Center's members kickstart weekend celebration.

About 120 members of the Greenwich Senior Center got a jumpstart on the St. Patrick's Day weekend celebration on Friday.

The group attended its annual St. Patrick's Day dinner, served by a couple dozen Greenwich employees and officials, at the Old Greenwich Civic Center. Tunes of Irish music, Frank Sinatra and even the Bee Gees filled the center—along with the requisite scents of corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. And after that tasty repast, guests were sated with hearty portion of bread pudding laced with Bailey's Irish Creme, accompanied by dollops of vanilla ice cream and fresh mint leaves.

Many took to the dance floor as town officials mingled with the crowd. Greenwich Police Capt. Mark Kordick attracted attention with his green plaid kilt as did Selectman Drew Marzullo who planted a shamrock-emblazoned mini-umbrella atop his head.
