Mark the calendar—Sidewalk Sales Days Are Coming

are scheduled for Thursday, July 12 through Sunday, July 15, along Greenwich Avenue and the nearby streets in downtown Greenwich.

There will be face painting and balloon art for children, along with live music and ballroom dancing, to entertain shoppers and their families as they find bargains and discounts downtown.

Holiday closings

For your planning purposes, here's a roundup of holiday closings for Wednesday, July 4th:

  • Town Hall: all offices closed.
  • Greenwich Public Library (including Byram and Cos Cob branches): Closed.
  • Perrot Memorial Library: closed.
  • Holly Hill Transfer Station: closed.
  • Greenwich Post Office: closed.
  • Banks: closed.
  • State Department of Motor Vehicles: closed.

You will be able to buy beach passes at both the and centers.

Fourth of July Celebration:

The annual flag-raising of the first American flag is set for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4th, in front of Town Hall. There will be a parade of the 13 colonial flags, along with a salute to Greenwich patriots who gave their lives defending their homes and Greenwich in the Revolutionary War.
