We've got Earth Day in Greenwich. As part of the continuing Earth Day celebration throughout April, the Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board is holding 2 events on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m in the employee parking area of Greenwich Town Hall.

EARTH SHRED 2012!
Shred sensitive documents such as financial statements, tax documents, medical and social security records at a one-day paper shredding event organized by the Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board and sponsored by The First Bank of Greenwich and Santaguida Sanitation. Five boxes free, $1 each additional. Box size guideline - record retention/10 ream case. Remove paper clips, plastic bindings and covers. Recycle Your Old Sneakers - One Day Only!
The Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board will collect in-house and bring to Town Hall employee parking lot. If sneakers are reusable, tie together and keep separate - others will be sliced and ground up into rubber pellets and used to create playground and athletic surfaces.
