There Goes Santa Claus ... and Not Down Santa Claus Lane

'There goes Santa Claus, there goes Santa Claus ..." but not "Santa Claus Lane."
Someone apparently pilfered an 8-foot tall inflatable Santa balloon from the front lawn of Greenwich Hardware at 300 W. Putnam Ave., according to Greenwich Police.
Police were notified of the theft on Dec. 6, shortly before 1 p.m. "It was last seen Saturday night (Dec. 3) tied to stakes. It was cut from the stakes," said police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray. Ironically, the store is located along a busy stretch of West Putnam Avenue, near Oakridge Street — next door to a McDonald's restaurant and across the street from a Dunkin' Donuts.
