Although these inspections have been scheduled, according to a Greenwich Police Department advisory, all road construction in the downtown area has been put on hold until after Jan. 1 in an effort to minimize delays during the holiday shopping season.

There will not be any roadway openings, excavations, blocking or restricting of public sidewalks or parking spaces will be permitted in the Central Business Districts of Greenwich, Old Greenwich, Riverside, Cos Cob, Byram or Glenville, except work of an emergency nature, according to the advisory.
