Two Face Greenwich DWI Charges

Both drivers accused of being asleep at the wheel.

Two drivers were arrested on driving while intoxicated charges stemming from two separate incidents over the weekend.

Shortly after 4 a.m. on April 27, Irving Andrade, 23, who gave an addres of 55 Wardwell St., Stamford, was arrested after Greenwich Police found Andrade sleeping his vehicle on East Putnam Avenue, according to a police report. The rear end of his vehicle was found to be on top of the curb, with the car running and in gear, according to the report.

After police smelled alcohol on his breath, observed glassy eyes and with Andrade failing field sobriety tests, he was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge.

He was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear May 11 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Greenwich Police say they arrested Anthony J. Pastore, 48, who gave an address of 105 Ridgebrook Dr., Bridgeport, after he was found inside in his pickup truck stopped, with the engine running, at about 10:20 p.m., May 1.

When police knocked on the window of the pickup, Pastore "appeared startled" and tried to drive away, according to a police report. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and operating with a suspended license after police also notice he had glassy, bloodshot eyes and failed field sobriety tests.

Andrade was held in lieu of $250 bond and scheduled to appear May 9 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
