What's Open, What's Closed for Memorial Day Weekend

In addition to the normal Monday holiday closings, The state Department of Motor Vehicles closed at 12:30 p.m. Friday, and the Greenwich Library closes for the weekend at 5 p.m. today.

Memorial Day, May 30, is a holiday for federal, state and local governments and just about everybody else in the United States.

The following are CLOSED on Monday, and on other days this weekend, unless noted:

Banks have the option of staying open on state and federal holidays in Connecticut.
TownHall and Greenwich government offices
Public schools
Libraries: The Greenwich Library system and the Perrot Memorial will be closed Sunday and Monday and reopens at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Post offices close on Monday but are open on Saturdays.
State offices, including Department of Motor Vehicles offices, will be closed on Monday. DMV offices will be open Friday, but only from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., according to the department.


The following are OPEN over the weekend and on Monday:

Restaurants
Grocery stores
Other businesses: open at the owner’s discretion.
