Letter: Ed Board Candidate Appelbaum 'Builds Consensus (with) Transparency'

It seems to me that Debbie Appelbaum has been preparing for a role on the Greenwich Board of Education for much of her adult life.  Her two children graduated from the Greenwich Public Schools. At each step of the way she participated in the schools and educational programs.  She has the background and she knows the issues.

Debbie has serious interest in a role on the BOE and she understands the diversity of our school population and is passionate about insuring EVERY child an opportunity to be prepared for the challenges of the 21st century.

Debbie has the skills!  I have worked closely with her as she assumed a leadership role in the Junior League of Greenwich.  She is informed and articulate.  She listens carefully and seeks divergent opinions.  She is patient and fair as she works to build consensus in an atmosphere of transparency.

I lived in Riverside for fifty-five years and spent twenty-five years in the Greenwich School system, most of those years at GHS as a Guidance Counselor.  As I now live in Stamford, I cannot vote for Debbie Appelbaum, but she has my highest endorsement.
