Letter: Erickson 'Represents What is Needed To Make Decisions' on Board of Ed

To the Editor:

On November 5th, the citizens of Greenwich have a voice in the election of our Board of Education representation.  Now that we have been given this opportunity let’s use it and vote for what is best for our students and our town.  Please get to know the candidates and make an educated decision. Let me help you…

For the first time in 12 years, I have no child in the public school system and now understand the other side of the argument, “What’s in it for me?” Well, a lot. The issues facing the BOE affect all citizens.  The majority of the children educated in our school system will be the future leaders in our community. We must support them now.

Please join me in voting for Laura Erickson for the Board of Education.  Laura has worked on all sides of the aisle to make our town a better place for children and education.  She represented District 5 on the RTM for 13 years,  is a past PTA president of Greenwich High School and Riverside School and is a former Board member of the Greenwich Alliance for Education (a non-profit organization that funds public school initiatives).   She represents the parent, the volunteer, the fundraiser and the governance needed to make educated decisions on behalf of all the citizens of Greenwich.  I have known Laura for over 10 years and think she will be an outstanding Board of Education member.
