Letter: Krumeich's 'Knowledge, Experience, Leadership Bodes Well' for Greenwich

To the Editor:

Given the dominance of one political party in Greenwich, it is fabulous that the minority party has been able to attract a First Selectman candidate with the credentials of Beth Krumeich. As a close friend for many years, I can assure you that Beth is a friendly, outgoing, sincere individual genuinely concerned about the welfare of others. She and her husband, Ed, have raised two wonderful children here in Greenwich and along every step of their children’s growth and educational process, Beth has participated in a supportive and leadership capacity. She was a Girl Scout leader of her daughter’s troop, Co-President of the North Street School PTA, and an active member of the CMS and GHS PTAs. Beth’s knowledge of and experience dealing with the Greenwich school system will be invaluable as the town continues to grapple with education issues.

Throughout her professional career as a corporate attorney, Beth Krumeich has given back to the community as an active volunteer. She is a past president of the League of Women Voters. She won the coveted Brava! Award from the YWCA for her work in organizing the Residents’ Council at Wilbur Peck Court; this work also won a national award for the Greenwich Housing Authority. Beth was the first alumna of Kirkland College to become a trustee of Hamilton College.

I strongly invite Greenwich voters of all political parties to closely examine Beth Krumeich’s leadership qualifications and her ideas for our community going forward. That someone of Beth’s talents is available to us bodes well for our town and its future. Please join me in voting for Beth Krumeich for First Selectman on November 5th.
