Letter: Sherr 'Offers Real Solutions' to Problems Facing Board of Ed

The election for BOE is coming down to the wire, it’s time to stop smear campaigns and begin to make educated decisions on who is to be seated on the BOE.  Due to political payback and his unwillingness to support the unilateral actions of BoE Chairman Steve Anderson, Peter Sherr narrowly missed re-nomination by the GOP Leadership to be on the ballot. Sensing support among Republican, Democrat and Independent voters, Peter pressed forward and in so with his voracious passion collected well over the 700 necessary signatures needed to give voters a choice. That kind of tenacity is reason enough to keep him as the voice of parents and our children.  Peter Sherr understands our community; he asks thoughtful and insightful questions to make important decisions.  Peter Sherr offers real solutions to real problems and is not afraid to stand up for the right thing.  Yet he does not stand in the way of progress and works together with the BOE in implementing what has been decided.  Peter Sherr is a leader and an asset to critical issues facing our school’s at this time and most importantly cares about the achievement levels for our 9,000 students in the Greenwich Public School system. It is time to speak for our children’s future and to do so please re-elect Peter Sherr to the BOE.
