Letter: 'Tesei The Steady Hand at The Helm'

To the Editor,

I have known Peter Tesei for over a decade now, and those of us who know Peter know he is a man of integrity, hard work and quiet determination. Greenwich could not ask for a candidate with a better resume for the role of First Selectman, given Peter's tenure on the RTM, as BET Chairman, and most importantly, his incredibly productive six years as our current First Selectman.

Whether it is supporting our school system, with the rebuilding of the Hamilton Avenue and Glenville Schools, as well as the upcoming MISA project at Greenwich High School, or the vast improvements to our public safety facilities, Peter has shown his true commitment to investing in our important town buildings so that our children and future generations can live and learn in Greenwich with pride.

Most importantly, Peter is not resting on his laurels.  He knows that the Town will need to make further investments in our infrastructure, while maintaining a modest and predicable tax rate,  so that we can continue to attract and retain a vibrant community.  I am extremely confident that Peter, given his deep background in finance as a private banker and his aforementioned leadership roles with respect to town finances, is supremely qualified to work with the BET and RTM to help us navigate these future decisions.

The Town of Greenwich is incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and highly qualified professional as Peter Tesei to be the steady hand at the helm while Washington and Hartford remain mired in turmoil over budgetary issues.  Please join me in showing your thanks by voting for Peter Tesei on Tuesday, November 5th.
