State Rep: Bernstein 'Is Stand-Out Candidate' for Board of Ed

On November 5th, you will have the opportunity to elect a candidate that embodies thoughtfulness and who truly believes that student achievement matters.  Peter Bernstein is a highly and uniquely qualified candidate. He understands the Greenwich magnet program as well as the strengths and limitations of the Greenwich Public School System.  As an attorney who has handled complex regulatory matters, Peter knows what works, what doesn’t and what are the critical pressure points.  Peter’s analytical thinking is exactly what is needed on our Board of Education especially as the Town addresses the State’s racial imbalance laws.  The citizens of Greenwich will be well served by Peter’s intellect and ability to build consensus during a time when it appears that consensus and problem solving are lacking.  Peter will neither accept status quo nor simply object to proposals without offering alternative solutions.  Peter will not confront problems with exasperation but instead work on creating the results that parents, citizens and taxpayers expect.

Peter’s knowledge of the District through his work as a class dad at Hamilton Avenue School and his constant review of BOE policies allows him to know what has worked and equally important what has not worked.  I am confident that Peter is the stand-out candidate we need to effectively lead this District and to ensure adherence to the long-standing neighborhood school tradition of our Town.  Please join me in voting for Peter Bernstein for the Board of Education.
