Voter Registration Sessions Set

The Registrars of Voters will hold two voter registration sessions in coming days to examine the qualifications of electors and admit those found qualified.

The session will be held at their offices in Greenwich Town Hall, 101 Field Point Rd. This session will be on Tuesday, Oct. 29, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

The Registrars of Voters also will hold a limited voter registration session for those whose qualification as to age, citizenship or residence was attained after Oct. 29. This session will be on Monday, Nov. 4, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Let the Candidates Debate
The Round Hill, the Northeast Greenwich and Northwest Greenwich Association will host a candidates debate at the Round Hill Community Center at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28. The debate will be for candidates for First Selectman and Board of Education.

Incumbent Republican Selectman Dave Theis will host be hosting a fund-raiser at Redman's Hall, 17 E. Elm St., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29. Tickets are $35; kids are free. To RSVP, contact Anne Drake at aannetd@aol.com or 203-629-2615.

Board of Ed Debate

The six Board of Education candidates are scheduled to debate Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Eastern Middle School.

The debate is being hosted by three neighborhood associations: Riverside, Old Greenwich, and Cos Cob Associations.  All Greenwich voters are invited to attend.  The debate will start at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Riverside Association President Roseann Sarica Benedict will moderate the debate.

Following opening statements by the candidates, the moderator will pose questions that have been developed with input from members of the neighborhood associations. Candidates will have 1½ minutes to answer each question, followed by one-minute responses, rebuttals, or clarifications.

Following closing the candidates' statements, the candidates will meet members of the audience.

Three Republicans and three Democrats are vying for four openings on the board. The top two Republican and top two Democratic candidates will win four-year terms on the board.

Letter Submission Deadline

Greenwich Patch will publish election-related letters to the editor through Oct. 31.  To be considered for publication, letters must be submitted by 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013.
