Catalyzing Connecticut’s Social Enterprise Ecosystem

Impact investing is the infusion of capital into nonprofit or for-profit businesses (typically social enterprises) and non-enterprise structures such as loans or equity funds with the intent of generating measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. With respect to social enterprises, how do you determine which social enterprise is a good investment? What is the current state of social enterprises in Connecticut? What type of ecosystem does Connecticut need to produce successful, sustainable and investable social enterprises? The following panel represents a variety of viewpoints and strategies with respect to their work with nonprofits, governments, entrepreneurs, and public-private partnerships.
