Greenwich Symphony Concert

SPOTLIGHT ON FIRST CHAIR PLAYERS AT GREENWICH SYMPHONY CONCERT

The Greenwich Symphony’s concerts on January 26 and 27 will feature four soloists, each a GSO first chair.   The ensemble, consisting of Diane Lesser, Oboe; Mark Davies, bassoon; Krystof  Witek, violin; and Daniel Miller, cello, will play the familiar  “Sinfonia Concertante,” one of Haydn’s famous “London” symphonies.   The full Orchestra will then perform Tchaikovsky’s explosive “Francesca da Rimini” and Witold Lutoslawski’s Concerto for Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on Saturday, January 26 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 27 at 4 p.m. at Greenwich High School Auditorium, Hillside Road, off U.S. 1.  A free, pre-concert lecture will be given by Associate Conductor Tara Simoncic one hour before each performance.  Tickets are $30 for adults, $10 for students.  For information call 203 869-2664 or see www.greenwichsym.org.
