GREENWICH, CT, January 17, 2013 – Méli-Mélo proudly welcomes fine art portrait photographer Ben Larrabee’s exhibit of family portraits. The exhibit, featuring fifteen selected portraits of children, young adults and families from Greenwich and the surrounding towns, reflects the lively atmosphere of Méli-Mélo.

“I think Ben Larrabee Photography captures what’s important to us in a fun way,” says owner Marc Penvenne.  “Ben’s black and whites of cherished moments between people inspires me as a restaurateur.  When I see customers enjoying themselves at my restaurant it’s very rewarding."

A nationally recognized portrait photographer, Larrabee’s images move the viewer with their spontaneity, clarity and detail. His purpose is to reveal the inner spirit of his subjects and "show the love".  Larrabee takes a holistic view of the photographic process. "My approach is based on letting go of expectations and assumptions about how people should look or behave,” says Larrabee. “I want to show my subjects acting naturally unselfconsciously, expressing their spirit and their love for one another."

For the past twenty years Méli-Mélo of Greenwich has served the community with a healthy “hodgepodge” of French inspired cuisine. In 2010, the popular crêperie at 362 Greenwich Avenue, took over its neighboring storefront expanding their seating, offerings and hours.

Ben Larrabee’s award-winning photographs are found in some of the finest homes from Santa Barbara to Chicago to New York.  They are also in the permanent collections of museums, including the MOMA in New York, The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The George Eastman House in Rochester and The High Museum in Atlanta.
