The Good News About the End of Christian America

If anyone knows what’s up and coming in American Christianity, it’s Gabe Lyons. He’s the founder of Q, a learning community that mobilizes Christians to advance the common good in society. It’s also known endearingly as the Christian TED, meaning the forum that gathers the best contemporary thinkers and doers to offer provocative new discoveries and insight.

Lyons is also the author of The Next Christians: The Good News About the End of Christian America, and UnChristian: What a New Generation Really Thinks About Christianity and Why It Matters, a bestselling book revealing the pervasiveness of pop culture’s negative perceptions of Christians. Prior to launching Q, Gabe co-founded Catalyst, a national gathering of young leaders. His work represents the perspectives of a new generation and he has been featured by CNN, The New York Times, Fox News, and USA Today.

As part of Christ Church Greenwich’s ongoing Courage and Faith series, Lyons will be speaking on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall Loft. There will be a wine and cheese reception to open the evening. There is no charge to attend, but reservations are required. Lyons will also be speaking Sunday morning at the 9:15 a.m. worship service, and offering a follow-up talk and book signing afterward.

The Courage and Faith series has previously featured speakers such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Dr. Maya Angelou, N.T Wright, and Rob Bell. Christ Church Greenwich is at 254 E. Putnam Ave. For details or reservations go to courageandfaith.org, or contact Christ Church Greenwich at (203) 869-6600.
