On Thursday, Feb. 14, the Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich, of which Georgopulo is
owner and president, will present programs that are close to her heart, fun, and beneficial.

What better way to celebrate this Valentine’s Day than sharing her love of dance with a free class to aid in the
ongoing fight against breast cancer? Georgopulo’s charity of choice, breast cancer prevention, will be represented by a free Breast Cancer Alliance of Greenwich group class (5:30 pm-6:30 pm). The class is for all staff members, friends and anyone battling the disease.

Since opening her studio two years ago,
Georgopulo has been committed to helping women throughout Connecticut stay free from breast cancer and its debilitating effects.  Every Wednesday, the Ballroom has a free group class for breast cancer patients, in conjunction with Greenwich Hospital.

“I feel blessed that I can use my passion for dance to help make women more aware of
changes in their bodies and prevention techniques in general,” says
Georgopulo.

Also on Valentine’s Day, which is Georgopulo’s birthday, the Grande Ballroom dancers will
celebrate one of the studio owner’s favorite dances by offering Salsa-in-a-Minute classes to anyone who shows up from 1-3 pm at nearby Lululemon Athletica, the yoga-inspired athletic-wear store.  The dancers will also perform the Salsa, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Merengue, and Hustle in the store window.

“Many dances are extremely beneficial to a person’s health,” Georgopulo says.  “So what better way to give someone you love something that will enhance their health than by offering them a chance to learn an exotic and fun dance that is also healthful?”

To also keep Valentine’s Day diners happy, the Grande Ballroom will offer Tango performances at Greenwich’s Bistro Latino (1392 East Putnam Avenue) at 7:30 and 8:30 pm.

The Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich CT is conveniently located at 6 Lewis Street, in downtown Greenwich.  The studio, which hosts talented and aspiring students from around Fairfield County and Upper Westchester, has been completely restored and redecorated in the Regency period style and is truly a grand ballroom.
