ABOUT THE FILM: Where were you in ’62? George Lucas’ ode to teenage life in the early 60s is a nostalgic look at the director’s teenage years. Starring Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Cindy Williams, Suzanne Somers, and Wolfman Jack along with many other iconic actors, including a brief scene with Harrison Ford and Mackenzie Phillips, AMERICAN GRAFFITI takes place on a summer evening in 1962 when two high school graduates Curt (Dreyfuss) and Steve (Howard) spend the night out in town where they drag race, go to drive-ins, and contemplate major life decisions involving college and their girlfriends. Both funny and poignant, AMERICAN GRAFFITI celebrates the past generation through its terrific cast and expansive rock soundtrack. Nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture, and produced by GODFATHER director Francis Ford Coppola, AMERICAN GRAFFITI remains a film definitive of the early 60s.
