ABOUT THE FILM: Howard Beale (Peter Finch), the dean of newscasters at the United Broadcasting System, is put out to pasture because and network executive Max Schumacher (William Holden), Howard's best friend, is forced to deliver the bad news. Beale can't stomach the idea of losing his 25-year post as anchorman, so he announces to the viewers that he's going to commit suicide on his final program. Network head Frank Hackett (Robert Duvall) wants to fire Beale immediately, but it looks as though the UBS is going to have its greatest ratings ever on the night of Beale's final show, so programming executive Diana Christensen (Faye Dunaway) talks Hackett into letting it go on. Beale doesn't go through with it -- he talks about the horrible state of the world and of television. He concludes by asking viewers to "Go to the window and shout as loud as you can: 'I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!'" Howard Beale becomes the hottest TV personality in America, and Diana is hailed for her foresight.

The film can be seen on the Showtime networks. Maulucci earned his MFA at Columbia University.
The Film and Television Masters program (FTMA) at Sacred Heart University is a one –year conservatory dedicated to the art of storytelling. Students engage in dynamic classroom workshops and lectures focusing on directing, screenwriting, producing, and new media arts. Based in Stamford, FTMA draws from talent and resources in the area and neighboring New York City.
