Youth Choir Begins Rehearsals at Round Hill Community Church

Round Hill Community Church is pleased to announce the formation of a
Youth Choir for children in grades 3-8.  The choir will be under the
direction of the Church's Music Director, Eugene Sirotkine, who is also
the conductor and musical director of the Hudson Valley Singers and the
New York Metamorphoses Orchestra.  From 1999-2008, Mr.
Sirotkine served as assistant conductor and assistant chorus master with
the New York Metropolitan Opera, and he has conducted choruses and orchestras
throughout the world, from the Kennedy Center Orchestra in Washington, D.C., to
the Hong Kong Philharmonic.

"There is no such thing as a non-musical child," says Mr.
Sirotkine.  "Our Youth Choir members will be exploring rhythm and
musical grammar, as well as learning songs. When children invent their own
rhymes and melodies, they also build up their knowledge of words and sounds, as
well as connections in the brain.  All music matters, whether it is
created or simply heard."

The Round Hill Youth Choir rehearsals will be held on Thursdays
from 6-6:45 p.m. beginning February 20th at Round Hill Community
Church, 395 Round Hill Road in Greenwich.  For more information, visit roundhillcommunitychurch.org or call 203-869-1091.
