Fairfield County is brimming with fabulous eateries. It is also blessed with stunning waterside setting. Yet, I am always amazed at how just a handful of quality restaurants are situated along the water in this area. Among the handful is Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood - a delightful restaurant with an absolutely stunning waterside setting. Situated in the picturesque village of Rowayton, it is always fun to drive up to this place. During summer season, it is also a popular place to stop by via a boat!
To make the most of the water views, we typically like to go there for lunch. Last Sunday we decided to check it out for brunch. It was a crisp fall morning, sunny and gorgeous with the leaves just turning. Great choice!
Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood has won many awards for the best seafood restaurant, and it is rated “Excellent” by Zagat. Executive Chef Christopher North has created a wonderful menu that showcases freshest of seafood in all its glory. But the beauty of this place is that its menu is also very kid friendly.
We ordered the Buffalo Calamari. Bam!!! So much kick of spice and tang, this dish will make you sit up and pay attention. I loved that the calamari was very light, fresh and crisp….with no oily residue the fried calamari usually tend to have.
Lobster Grilled Cheese with white cheddar stood out on the menu. I have never had lobster in a grilled cheese….and just HAD to try it. Large lumps of juicy lobster meat, with creaminess of the melted cheddar, topped with crunchy wheat toast. What is not to love?!
