What A Blast!

A recap of the Greenwich Food and Wine Festival

Charged atmosphere!  Wines galore! Delicious food! Celebrity sightings! Really, really, REALLY full but happy bellies!  :-)

The Greenwich Food and Wine Festival last weekend was a blast!  I was there Saturday and had such a great time. There was so much good food and wine to be had. The area’s best of the best were there with their delicious offerings. Nothing could be better than: old favorites like Bobby Q’S, The Schoolhouse, Rowayton Seafood, Chocopologie and Douro along with new buzz-creators like Eleven 14 Kitchen and Bar Q as well as the much anticipated new comers like Dinosaur BBQ – all under the same tent…ready to make me one happy foodie.  :-)

I LOVED the vibe of the festival this year. Last year’s was great, but this year was awesome. I have never been to the Food and Wine Festival in Aspen but have watched enough clips on TV and internet to imagine what it must be like. Let me tell you that, visiting the Greenwich Food and Wine Festival this year made me think – this is it! This is what it must be like.

There were tons of people there – but it never felt crowded. It felt like a “success” – if you know what I mean?  Despite the crowd, no one had to stand in long lines to get to their food or wine at any station – simply because there was so much food everywhere you looked.

The vendors were ready and waiting with a smile- happy to talk to you about what they do. I felt the food portions at most stations were very generous. A half hour into it, and I was already feeling full. One of these days, I really need to teach myself the art of pacing myself – but I always get hit by the “kid in the candy store” syndrome.  :-(

I'm so sorry this happened -- could you tell us what neighborhood you live in so we have a betterRead More idea of what part of town the cat may be in? Also, I'm curious whether animal control questioned your nephew -- there is a link between people who abuse animals and those who later abuse other people (and cats seem to be the 'gateway' to larger mammals). If anyone reading this has any suggestions on how to locate or lure back this kitty, please respond.
