Happy Birthday, Greenwich!

Greenwich, CT celebrates 371 years as a town and community.

Greenwich, CT ... the Gateway to New England, turned 371 years young on Monday. From the early Americans who walked our roads to our newest residents, from General Israel Putnam to the Putnam Diner, and from Connecticut Yankees to New York Yankees, our town has seen it all and been a part of this great country's rich history.

From Byram to Bible Street, from Riversville to Riverside, from Glenville to Greenwich Avenue, and from Pemberwick to Pomerance, this diverse town has a well-earned reputation for civic-mindedness and compassion. Our tight-knit communities may have changed a lot over the past 300-plus years, but there still remains a generosity of spirit that is hard to find elesewhere.

So, Happy Birthday, Greenwich! May the next 371 be just as exciting, prosperous, and kind as the first 371!
