Relay For Life Sets Date for Kick-Off
Relay for Life will be hosting its 2012 Kick-Off Meeting at 7pm, January 17 at Greenwich Town Hall. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The Relay is an overnight celebration of life and cancer survivorship; it is a unique team event designed to raise awareness about cancer and raise funds. Eighty cents of every dollar raised goes to support research, education, advocacy and patient services. The Relay itself will take place June 15, 2012 on the King Street Campus of Brunswick School.
This will be the 6th year Greenwich has hosted a Relay. Since 2007, more than 1500 people have volunteered their time and raised almost $500,000.00.
