Help Stuff a Truck, Feed the Hungry

The Bridgeport Rescue Mission food pantry feeds a lot of hungry people ranging from single moms to seniors on fixed budgets. In the summer months their pantry often runs dangerously low.

Bridgeport Rescue Mission's food pantry is running dangerously low.  Please help us Stuff a Truck to feed hungry families and individuals throughout coastal Fairfield County! Their food pantry runs dangerously low in the summer months.

 Bridgeport Rescue Mission contribute their news and priorities via a Patch blog, including blanket drives and coat drives in the fall and winter. They also look for turkeys around Thanksgiving time.

On Friday, July 12th Mission staff and volunteers will be in Greenwich at 2 Stop & Shop supermarkets from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to collect items the Mission needs most.

Here are the items as well as the specific store locations where they will have a truck ready to be stuffed.

  • 11 Glenn Ridge Road in Glenville
  • 161 West Putnam Avenue in Greenwich

Food items needed:  canned soup, beef stew, vegetables, ham, tuna and beans, pasta and sauce, macaroni and cheese, Ramen noodles, cold cereal, powdered drink mix, and coffee.

If you can help, bring a bag or two of groceries to your favorite Stop & Shop store - or purchase extra while you do your regular grocery shopping.  You'll feel good knowing someone on the streets, a weary mom and her youngsters, a senior citizen on a limited income and so many other struggling people will have a nutritious meal tonight and tomorrow because you care.
