Fashion's Night Out Struts Down Greenwich Ave

On Thursday evening Greenwich Avenue was cleared of traffic for an event designed to make shopping fun again: the third annual Fashion's Night Out.

Coordinated by Director of Marketing, Geri Corrigan, the Avenue was dressed up for its night out. A wide red carpet unfurled down the middle of the road was flanked by rows of luxury cars. Rolls Royces, Maseratis and Ferraris courtesy of formed a fitting backdrop for the models in their fall outfits.

The weather held up beautifully as dozens of local private and public school students, store staff, and moms moved along the makeshift runway. In dresses by Amy Matto, a quintet of friends-come-models were pleased that their dresses were all made in the USA. Then there was Linda and Lindsay Waterbury, the mother-daughter pair who were stunning in their formal gowns. At three years old, the youngest model, Mikayla Hirsch, briefly lost her shoe, but not her composure.

First Selectman Peter Tesei was on hand to welcome everyone to the event. Also attending were elected officials CT State Senator, Scott Frantz and Greenwich Selectman, David Theis.

On the Avenue, retail stores, salons, galleries, restaurants, banks and other businesses stayed open late to host open houses to kick off the fall season in style.

After the fashion show, the parties got started! "Remember September" performed on the main level of Saks. Complimentary makeovers and special services were on offer including massages by La Mer and hair styling by Warren-Tricomi. All that on a Thursday night. Not bad for the suburbs.
