Sidewalk Sales
It's that time of year again...you know when Saks has racks with the
color coded stickers that make u do a double take and ask yourself 'am
I dreaming?!' Well fellow GG's-let me assure you, this is very much a
reality. As we all know sidewalk sales start promptly at 9am on
Thursday. Now, that being said- this does not mean take your time - if
anything, this means get your dazzling, just car washed range and your toned little buns to Greenwich Ave no later than 8am-park on a side street for an easy
escape and hit up Starbucks for that iced double latte (no whip) so
that you can be one of the first to be elbowing your way through the
sale racks. A little GG Advice: on the days leading up to the beloved
sidewalk sales I like to make a POA. What some may think refers to a
Plan of Action is the equivalent to what I call my Plan of Attack-as
in attacking all women's clothing items and other GG's who may be in
my way. Granted, I am tempted to take little Whit (1.5 yr old God
daughter) on my shopping adventures-but even I think it may be a
little premature-why expose her to the doggy dog world that exists
when it comes to 70% off at Saks and Richards? At least not until next
year when she will undoubtedly be able to articulate full sentences
like 'get out of my way GG!' or 'that's MY DVF wrap dress GG
Grandma!'. In the meantime, mapping out the start to finish blue print
of Thursday mornings spots to hit up is of top priority right now.
Stay tuned for a list of places where you can be one of the lucky
first 100 shoppers who receives a GG Goody Bag that is FULL of special
one of a kind (obviously) GG specials and discounts at the top shops
in town-including 15% off ALL wine purchases at Horseneck Wines on
Sundays and 50% off any pj set at my favorite fine lingerie boutique of ALL time, Patricia Gourlay. Obviously these offers are only valid with the GG coupons-so
check in with GG in a couple of days for the last minute info on the
deets. In the meantime, start drafting your blueprints of your
sidewalk sale POA and get those credit cards ready for the exciting
days ahead. One last piece of advice - between the heat and hanger wrestling, be sure to rest up this week and lay off the extra skinny Margs- these sidewalk sales are NOT for the faint at heart (or whatever that saying is) -trust me.
