GG SPA!

GG SPA! So I totally know its girl code to not share all of your beauty secrets but how could I hold out on my GG's?! We have all heard of micro-dermabrasion. You know the procedure that they do on women's faces (mostly women I would hope) where they remove a layer of skin and then extract any thing from the pores often leaving redness and blotchyness for a few days before the unveiling of a perfectly glowing, dewy face? Well, after a long week and a successful weekend at my GG raffle stand at Darlenes Heavenly (and it is Heavenly!) Desires I met Olga, owner of Derma Science Spa in Riverside. First of all, with long blonde hair and a body of a 17 year old this woman is a showstopper not to mention her skin is to die for (obviously the first thing I noticed.) After exchanging info I decided that I would give her version of a microderm a whirl-after all, Olga uses a technology and european technique that promises not even redness upon completion of treatment. So wait a minute, I walk in looking like a tired, overworked GG and walk out looking like I just stepped onto an island with the sunkissed look of a hawaiian barbie?!
I admit I was nervous. For godsakes I need to be given apple juice and saltines when I get my blood taken and I'm expected to remain calm with a monster machine tracing mt face?! Little did I know this entire experience would be far from scary and even relaxing!
Now being in my 20's I am aware of the importance of starting skin conditioning now as preventative action versus surgeries down the line but that doesnt mean I wanted to admit that I had actually hit this milestone. As I tried to conceal my anxiety (impossible) I velcroed on the gown and lied down on the spa bed. Cringing and squinting my eyes closed Olga told me to relax- this would not hurt at all. As she turned the machine on my heartrate picked up-but as soon as she pressed the tiny tool onto my face it felt like a mini vaccum-clearly the machines bark was way worse than its bite. 30 minutes later Olga handed me a mirror - as I hesitated I finally got the courage to look. I have never sat up so fast in My entire life. Now putting my palm to my face and screaming 'OMG! OMG!' the gown now falling to my bellybutton went unnoticed (by me) as I shrieked with joy "OLGA!! Omg! This is AMAZING!!" dewy and glowing- I looked rested and five yrs younger, we are talking teen years people. As I hugged her ten times and continued screaming both to her and myself as I walked to the car I couldnt help but think preventative suddenly didnt sound so bad afterall!
