Story Barn Workshop Date Change

Learn how to craft and deliver a compelling yearn based on personal experience at the Story Barn Workshop. Three sessions will lead to a performance at "Mixed Bag," the next Story Barn on February 22.

Greenwich Historical Society board member and standup comedienne Bonnie Levison will lead a storytelling workshop culminating in a Story Barn performance at the Historical Society on Friday, February 22, 2013. Past Story Barn themes have often tied into exhibitions at the Historical Society, but in honor of these premiere performances, the field will be wide open and aptly entitled "Mixed Bag."

Places are still available for the three-session workshop where participants will learn to develop and craft their personal tales. The first session will focus on the principles of storytelling and individual idea development; the second session will look at developing the arc of the story; the third will consist of fine tuning the story and developing its presentation.

Whether you want to become more relaxed speaking in front of a crowd, be the life of the party or aspire to follow in the footsteps of Jerry Seinfeld, this is a fun way to learn to spin a good yarn and hone your public speaking skills.

Workshop leader, multi-talented Bonnie Levison has been performing standup comedy and storytelling on a wide variety of stages for many years. She is a storytelling instructor for MothShop, the community and corporate education program for The Moth, a nonprofit organization based in New York City dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. She also founded the Nantucket Comedy Festival.

Workshop dates: Thursdays, January 30, Febriaru 6 and February 20, 2013. 6:00 to 8:00 pm

Workshop fee is $100 for members and $125 for nonmembers. Advance registration is required.

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
