This being my first entry, I hope this blog will be thought provoking. I am not afraid to rock the boat and will, admittedly, support Democratic positions. But they say all politics are local and I believe local politics are REALLY local. With that in mind, I always hope to support any policies and candidates that are good for our families and neighbors.
In discussing this year’s Tax Collector race, a number of people have expressed to me that the Tax Collector should an administrative position in the town and not an elected one. It’s an interesting thought and, while am not sure if I agree with it, it did get me thinking. I have been the interviewee and interviewer for many financial management positions and know the vetting process pretty well. The fact of the matter is that if we were recruiting for this position we may be concerned that Bill Grad was overqualified, but Tod Laudonia would lack the prerequisites to even get to a first interview.
