Pet Adoption Event and Pet Food Pantry Grand Opening This Weekend in Stamford

STARescue (Stamford Animal Rescue) will host a pet adoption event and pet food pantry grand opening this Saturday, May 5th, at High Ridge Shopping Center.

STARescue (Stamford Animal Rescue), a community-based service organization, will host a pet adoption event this weekend.

Date: Saturday, May 5, 2012
Location: High Ridge Shopping Center
1041-1145 High Ridge Rd., Stamford, CT 06905

STARescue is excited to have several area rescue groups participating, including Adopt-A-Dog of Greenwich, Bully Breed, Guardian Angel Rescue, animalsRfamily and Volunteer Square.

A special thank you is extended to the sponsors, Peter Suchy Jewelers and Hearst Media Services and to High Ridge Center, Samuel Lotstein Realty Company LLC and Phil Lotstein and family for their generosity in donating the area within the shopping center where the pet adoption event will take place.

Animals will be available for viewing on May 5 from 12:00-3:00pm. Volunteers will be available to answer questions and assist with the application process. It is important to note that adoptable animals are only available for viewing during scheduled adoption days.

Pet Food Pantry
STARescue is also proud to announce the grand opening of the STARescue Pet Food Pantry where dog and cat food will be distributed to those families who have fallen on hard times. To ensure that no pet goes hungry, the pantry provides free dog and cat food to anyone in financial crisis. Food distribution and collection will be handled during the adoption event. Applications are available on the STARescue website at www.stamfordanimalrescue.org.

For those unable to foster or adopt, but would like to contribute, donations in the forms of cash or pet food and supplies will be accepted on May 5th.

Further information can be obtained through the STARescue website at www.stamfordanimalrescue.org.

First Saturday of the Month Pet Adoption Days
