Most of a news release from Venture Photography of Greenwich:

Venture Photography, a unique portrait studio based in Greenwich, CT, is well known for their ability to capture relationships and personalities through images that tell stories.

Last summer, a young woman from New Fairfield named Jessika Lobraico purchased a promotional package from Venture as a gift for her brother, Staff Sgt Todd Lobraico Jr, who was then stationed in Afghanistan. She was looking after his magnificent English Mastiff, Gus, and was hoping to have a family shoot once he returned from duty.

Sadly, he was killed in action on September 5th last year. He was just 22.
A few months later, on Veterans Day, Jessika decided to bring Gus to the studio, along with TJ's girlfriend Jess Germano.

They were hoping to create something special to honor TJ, the love of his dog, and everyone's devotion to keeping his memory alive. They wanted something that reflected not just their incredible grief and sacrifice, but also the joyful relationship this brave young man had with his dog.

Photographer Marc Miller captured a variety of powerful images of Gus, all of them very poignant and expressive. Along with the slobber and the comical mishaps expected from such a massive dog, it was remarkable day of both painful tears and unbridled laughter.

This Memorial Day weekend, Venture Photography will be celebrating and commemorating TJ Lobraico Jr during their exhibition at the Weston Memorial Day Fair.

They plan to donate 100 percent of their proceeds to the TJ Lobraico Jr Scholarship Fund. For a $50 contribution to the fund, Venture will offer a full-family portrait session worth $500.

Studio owner Anne Hamilton commented, "Gus has just melted all of our hearts. We are proud to tell the story of TJ's sacrifice for our great country, and for our own freedom. He leaves behind an amazingly loving family who are dedicated to keeping his spirit alive by supporting young students".

The Venture studio is located at 48 West Putnam Ave, Greenwich.
