Sprucing Up for The Holidays at Greenwich Town Hall

Crews were decorating the giant pine tree and hanging wreaths at Greenwich Town Hall in preparation for the annual tree lighting next week.

The lights were hung on the pine tree with care.

And so were the wreaths atop the entrance to Greenwich Town Hall. With a decidedly frosty nip in the air on Tuesday, members of the Greenwich Parks & Recreation Tree Department were decorating the exterior of town hall in preparation where the Department of Parks and Recreation annual holiday tree lighting ceremony will take place on Monday, Dec. 2, from 3:45 until 4:30 p.m.

The ceremony will feature a holiday message from First Selectman Peter Tesei, a visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and rides for the kids aboard a mechanical polar bear and reindeer.

The Greenwich High School Chamber Singers will perform holiday songs before Tesei flips the switch to light the tree at 4:25 p.m.

Refreshments of cider, hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes, will be served.
