GHS Band Swings into Spring

The Greenwich High School Band has scores of exciting events this coming spring!

The Band has scores of exciting events this coming spring!

All day Saturday, March 24, GHS will be holding its annual Jazz Festival in partnership with Jazz at Lincoln Center. The festival will take place in the student center, and is open to the public! The GHS Jazz Lab Band will open up the festival at 11 AM, followed by several high school bands from around the tri-state area, and will close with the GHS Jazz Ensemble.

One of the great elements of this festival is that the students are critiqued after performances by professional jazz musicians. Last year's mantra has definitely been proven true: listen to what's going on around you, and then you will fall into place.

On March 30, the GHS bands will be off to perform in Chicago! Mr. Yoon and Mr. Walker, our band directors, have worked very hard to set this trip in motion. The band has travelled around the United States as well as around the world, to places like Greece, China, and England. One thing everybody agrees on is that these trips are the highlight our time at GHS, and they truly bring the band community closer together.

The GHS Spring Concert will be held on April 4, at 7:30 PM, the day after the band returns from Chicago. All are welcome!
