Cabbage with Dill

Kathy's Cabbage with Dill

A few fresh ingredients and quick preparation make this a delicious farm-to-table side dish. Both green cabbage and fresh dill is available at Augustine's Farm.


Ingredients:
1/2 head of chopped cabbage
1/3 cup finely chopped dill
1/2 stick butter or margarine
Salt & pepper to taste

  • Chop cabbage and put in large bowl
  • Melt butter in large skillet
  • Place the heap of chopped cabbage in skillet
  • Add 1/3 cup of dill and cover skillet with lid on medium heat
  • After 5 minutes toss the cabbage and dill so that it is well coated with butter or margarine
  • Cover and cook for another 10 minutes, tossing occasionally. Cabbage should be wilted and soft.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Garnish with a sprig of dill. Serves 4

I love anything with cabbage. This recipe sounds delicious. Will have to stop by the farm to get the ingredients and try it.

The fresh dill with the butter-coated, wilted cabbage, realy made it a tasty fresh tasting dish. Short prep time with a big pay off. I used 1 small head of cabbage and a bit more dill. Elegant and tasty enough to be served at a barbeque instead of cole slaw. THANK YOU kATHY!

This DILL has his very own superb "Lebanese-style" stuffed cabbage recipe. It's called malfoof meshie as is as delicious as can be!

Also, I'm curious whether animal control questioned your nephew -- there is a link between people who abuse animals and those who later abuse other people (and cats seem to be the 'gateway' to larger mammals). If anyone reading this has any suggestions on how to locate or lure back this kitty, please respond.

You did not mention hisRead More age, bu poor treatment of animals in youth is often a precursor to similar treatment/crimes against people in later years. I hope you have taken steps to correct this behavior, or have taken it up with his parents, if they are available.
