Greenwich Couple Weds Atop Empire State Building

A Valentine's Day dream come true.

Every bride dreams of a fairy tale wedding. And for Greenwich resident Paula Cubero Valentine's Day was a fairy tale dream come true.

She and Enrique Catter were at the top of the world — well, the top of New York City — when tied the knot on Tuesday at the Empire State Building.

The wedding was the culmination of a four-year courtship and civil ceremony, uniting the couple who met at a party in New York 4 years ago. The wedding was planned out by ColinCowieWeddings.com in conjunction with Empire State Building Corp.

According to event planner ColinCowieWeddings.com, "Paula and Enrique met in 2007 at a party in New York City. Paula was visiting from Mexico and told her friend that introduced them that it was love at first sight. After a year of long-distance romance Enrique proposed in December of 2008 at Paula’s family home in Mexico surrounded by her parents, her friends, and a full mariachi band

"With Enrique in Greenwich, CT and Paula in Mexico planning their wedding the couple couldn’t wait to start their life together. Unfortunately that spring, the swine-flu epidemic swept through Mexico and the couple’s plans for their big day had to be canceled. Due to visa issues the couple wed in a civil ceremony, and went on their honeymoon but never gave up on the dream of a full- traditional Catholic wedding.

"Over the past few years Paula and Enrique have been saving for their wedding. At the urging of friends they entered the CCW/ESB contest. Paula launched a viral campaign to all original 350 wedding guests on Facebook, and everyone was completely overjoyed to find out that they had won! Paula is currently three months pregnant and thinks 2012 might be the best year of her life. Paula and Enrique look forward to finally celebrating their love amongst family and friends who will be flying in from both Mexico and Peru"

According to the publicist for Colin Cowie, "Paula and Enrique submitted a 2-minute-long video, which was selected among hundreds of videos to make the “final 16.” From there, they encouraged friends and family to vote for their video, and were selected as one of the four winning couples."

Congratulations to the couple who have shared some photos and the video they submitted to the contest, which can be viewed at right.

I'm so sorry this happened -- could you tell us what neighborhood you live in so we have a betterRead More idea of what part of town the cat may be in? Also, I'm curious whether animal control questioned your nephew -- there is a link between people who abuse animals and those who later abuse other people (and cats seem to be the 'gateway' to larger mammals). If anyone reading this has any suggestions on how to locate or lure back this kitty, please respond.

I hope you are able to prohibit your nephew from further access to animals. You did not mention hisRead More age, bu poor treatment of animals in youth is often a precursor to similar treatment/crimes against people in later years. I hope you have taken steps to correct this behavior, or have taken it up with his parents, if they are available.
