A Change in Leadership at Neighbor to Neighbor

Interim co-executive directors appointed during search for permanent leader of the nonprofit organization.

 

Wendy Blumenthal and Jody Breakell aren't strangers to the social services scene in Greenwich.

Long involved with various organizations from the Greenwich Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Greenwich United Way and the YWCA to name a few, the pair now are serving as interim co-executive directors of Neighbor to Neighbor, the nonprofit social services agency run by Christ Church Greenwich.

Blumenthal said she and Breakell, through their nonprofit management firm B&B Consulting of Greenwich, are running the day-to-day operations of agency which includes a food pantry that serves 275 families a month, and helps distribute clothing and other necessities to families in the Greenwich and Port Chester region.

Former executive director Cathy Lynch left in June when her family relocated out of the area, Blumenthal said.

Blumenthal and Breakell will work as the agencyu's management team until the church hires a replacement. "They are doing an exhaustive and thorough search," Blumenthal added.

Last week, Blumenthal and Breakell dropped by the annual food drive held by the Greenwich Service Chapter of the Salvation Army and town hall employees which replenished Neighbor to Neighbor's pantries with several hundred pounds of food staples.

According to the job posting on the Christ Church website, the executive director is responsible for improving and expanding its outreach programs and fundraising, as well as overseeing its extensive volunteer program, and marketing.
