Alan D. Thorenz, Football Coach, Physical Ed Teacher

 

Alan D. Thorenz, a Port Chester, NY native, passed away Sept. 8, 2013.

Born in Port Chester, NY on Aug. 2, 1945, he was the son of Alfred and Anita Wellstood Thorenz.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia and son, Adam of Middletown, NY, daughter, Erika and her husband Dan, and granddaughter MaKayla Emanuele of Wisconsin; and his sister, Wendy of Greenwich, two aunts and several cousins.

Al was a devoted and beloved son, brother, husband, dad and granddad – he is missed so very much.

He was a sincere, kind and generous friend to many people and touched many young lives in his lengthy careers of football coach and physical education educator.

A Christian memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 761 King St., Rye Brook, NY at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that if you have a story to share about Al, you can send it to althorenzmemories@frontier.com. Once completed, this book of memories will be given to his nine-month-old granddaughter.
