Anita Egenberger, 83; Greenwich Resident and Homemaker

Anita Egenberger of Greenwich, passed away on March 12, 2014 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx NY, surrounded by her family. She was 83.

She was born on Aug. 16, 1930 in Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late Jack and Anna Fusillo Aloise.

She devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker.

Mrs. Egenberger is survived by her husband and constant companion of 63 years, Charles Egenberger of Greenwich; her daughter Yvonne Yax and her husband Vinny of Greenwich; her son Rudy Egenberger and his wife Kathryn of Danbury; and her daughter Denise LeBlanc and her husband Jim, of Naugatuck. She also is survived by her grandchildren Joan Lyman and her wife Heather of South Carolina, Joseph Vippolis of Connecticut, Jennifer Bennett and her husband Nate of California and Louis and Alan LeBlanc of Connecticut. She had four great-grandchildren, Hutchinson and Hayes Lyman of South Carolina and Isabelle and Gabriella Bennett of California.

She also is survived by her sister-in-law Peggy Aloise, uncle Joe Guerin and her cousins Ralph DeSantis, Phyllis and Michael Dorkin, Emil and Eleanor Milano and Patrick and Julie Guerin, as well as several generations of loving nieces and nephews and her godchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Frank Aloise and his wife Eileen, and Rudy Aloise. 

Friends and relatives may call at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich, between 2 and 4 p.m. and 6 and 8 p.m., Sunday, March 16. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, March 17 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside.
