Barbara Jean deGeofroy, 68; Lifelong Greenwich Resident, Private Duty Nurse

Barbara Jean (O'Connor) deGeofroy, lifelong Greenwich resident, passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2013. She was 68.

Born on Feb. 14, 1945, to the late William and Jeanette O'Connor of Cos Cob.

She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1963. Over the course of her lifetime, she worked at the Greenwich Library, General Dynamics and Clairol/Bristol Myers. For the latter part of her life, Mrs. deGeofroy worked as a private duty nurse in Greenwich for more than 25 years. 

She enjoyed volunteering with Adopt-A-Dog as she was compassionate for the well being of animals. She also enjoyed gardening, bible study, playing the piano and drawing and painting.

Predeceased by her husband, Michel deGeofroy of Greenwich, she is survived by her son, Hugh Connelly and his wife, Lynn of Stamford; her daughters Jean Maguire and her fiancé, Phillip Gregory, of Gloucester, MA, Cassie (deGeofroy) Blaine and her husband, Billy of White Plains, NY; and her three grandsons, Joseph, Sean and Jack.
 
Friends and family may call upon Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11, at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside.
