Caroline Dudas, 98, Former Lifesavers Employee

Caroline Zack Dudas entered into eternal rest on Nov. 14.

She was born in Elizabeth, N.J. on March 20, 1914 to Josephine Wronka and Stanley (Gryzch) Zack.

Caroline attended schools in Greenwich and Port Chester, NY. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Greenwich, and a member of the Sacred Heart Ladies Guild. She worked for Lifesavers in Port Chester as a machine operator for 20 years and was a member their bowling league for 7 years. Caroline also waitressed at the former Fritz and Tom's Restaurant in Port Chester. She was a member Greats, the Glenville AARP #320, and St. Paul's Seniors Group in Byram.

Caroline volunteered as a class mother at the former Byram Elementary School, and after retiring, worked at the voting polls in Glenville, bundled daffodils for the Greenwich Hospital Fund and helped archive published articles for the Greenwich Health Association. She was an avid card player, enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, collecting coins, taking trips with senior groups to the Mohegan Sun and Fox Wood Casinos, and traveled extensively with family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Victor O. Dudas, and siblings Anthony Zack, Mary Zack, Veroica Zack, Mildred Meieshkewich and Julia Dudas.

Caroline is survived by her sister Helen Wach of Miami, FL; her children Victoria Quatrone, Beverly Shockley (husband Richard), Anthony Dudas (wife Isabella); grandchildren Christina Quatrone Loperena, Jennifer Quatrone Winters (husband Donall), Kristopher Shockley (wife Kerry), Stephanie Shockley Thomas (husband Brian), Jessica Shockley Gentile (husband Marco), Anthony Dudas, Jr.; great grandchildren Daniel Loperena, Jr., Brayden and Catelyn Shockley, Brynn Thomas, Dante Gentile, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home, Inc. 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, on Sunday, Nov. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Sacred Heart Church in Greenwich. Internment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
