Dale Lucian passed away on July 7, 2014 at the age of 57 with her family by her side after a long battle with cancer.

Dale is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 36 years, Jimmy Lucian and her son, Justin Lucian and wife Caitlin who made her the proud grandmother of Madeline and Ethan Lucian who gave her such happiness. She is also survived by her mother, Joan Clark; her sister, Cheryl Clark Robbins and her husband Bill Robbins; and her nephews, Billy and Ben Robbins. She was also blessed to have so many wonderful friends that she also considered her family.

She was predeceased by her father, James Clark.

She was born on June 11, 1957 in Greenwich. She attended the Greenwich Catholic Schools, graduating from St. Mary High School. Dale then went on to Berkeley Business School in White Plains, NY. After graduating, Dale worked at the Pittston Coal Company from 1976 to 1987.

Always an active member of the community, Dale was a New Lebanon School PTA President, taught Religious Education at Sacred Heart Church, and was on the BANC Board of Directors for many years. She volunteered for a number of jobs to help out the Byram football program and the children involved. For the last 5 ½ years she worked at the Greenwich YMCA first as Executive Assistant to the CEO, then as Acting Chief Operations Officer, and most recently as Chief Of Staff/Human Resources.

On its Facebook page, the Greenwich YMCA posted "It’s with great sadness that we inform you that our beloved Dale Lucian, YMCA Chief of Staff and Membership Operation Director, has passed away. For the last 5 ½ years, we've had the privilege and honor of calling Dale mentor, colleague and friend. Her infectious laugh, hard work and positive outlook transformed our YMCA staff and membership. Dale was that unique spirit who made you want to do better and be better. We are forever grateful to you, our Zumba Queen. Thank you for changing our lives for good. We welcome everyone to post thoughts of remembrance on our page or at our front desk."

And in a tribute to Dale, the YM had its flags at half-staff Wednesday.

She greeted everyone with a smile and kind word. She will be greatly missed for trying to make the world a better place.

The family would like to thank Dale’s good friend, Marcie Husband for all her loving care and support during Dale’s illness.

Friends may call at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, on Thursday, July 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass will be held Friday, July 11 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Byram.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the YMCA of Greenwich or The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. For online condolences visit www.castiglionefh.com
