Dolores "Dee" Lanzetta, 79; Avid Tennis Player, Cos Cob Resident

Calling hours are to be held Sunday, Jan. 12, with the funeral scheduled for Monday, Jan. 13.


Dolores "Dee" Lanzetta, of Cos Cob,  passed away Jan., 8 2014. She was 79.

She was the daughter of the late Armando Sacasas and Emma Feldner.

Dee lived life courageously and passionately with a compass always fixed on true north. She was a cancer survivor, sports enthusiast, avid antique collector and possessed a unique love and appreciation for real estate. Many know her as Mrs. Tennis — "The" Tennis Ambassador for the tri-state area. 

She is survived by her children Richard Lanzetta (Trina) of Oshkosh WI; Donna Hardy (Russ) of Westport; Denise Ballantyne (Tom) of Los Angeles, CA; Joseph Lanzetta (Liza) of San Antonio, TX, and Fred Lanzett (Marco) of New York City; grandchildren Matthew, Christopher and Samantha Hardy; Taylor Ballantyne, Luke and John Lanzetta, Samantha Lee and Adam Smerconish. 

She was the widow of Fred Lanzetta. She also was predeceased by her brother Armando Sacasas. 

Friends and relatives may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13  at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside.
