Dorothy Kent MacDonald, 108; Executive Legal Secretary


Dorothy Kent MacDonald, of Greenwich, passed away peacefully on Oct. 7, 2013. She was 108.

Dorothy (Gaga) was born on Aug. 17, 1905 to the late Harry and Clara Spencer. She was a long-term resident of The Mews and The Nathaniel Witherell nursing home.

She worked for many years at Apex Inc. and later was the executive secretary to the CEO of the law offices of Hirschberg, Pettengill and Strong. She led a full life, had strong faith in the Lord, and enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Patricia Kent Hatter, son James (Roberta) Kent; stepdaughter Norma Iarocci, and her 11 grandchildren, James Winslow, Richard Winslow, Kim Hatter Coppola, Mark Hatter, Tracy Hatter Deck, Suzy Winslow Persutti, Todd Kent, Christine Kent Moore, Kim Iarocci, Keith Iarocci, and Kent Iarocci. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild. 

She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Herbert Kent and Alexander MacDonald; her sister, Evelyn Francis; her brother Everett Spencer; her daughter, Barbara Kent Winslow, and both of her sons-in-law, Dale Hatter and Richard Winslow.

Relatives recently celebrated Dorothy's 108th birthday at Nathaniel Witherell. Well done Dorothy.
