Emma H. Tattar, 100; Lifelong Greenwich Resident, Member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church

Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, June 13, with the funeral to be held on Saturday, June 14.

Emma H. Tattar, 100, a lifelong resident of the Byram section of Greenwich, passed away June 8, 2014 at the Seal Rock Nursing Home in Saco, Maine. She was 100.

Emma was born Feb. 8, 1914 to Stephan and Suzanne (Borik) Hinlicky in Greenwich.

She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1932. Emma was a competitive swimmer in her youth, enjoyed cooking, knitting and sewing throughout her life, and referred to herself as a domestic engineer. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Byram, and a founding member of the MaryMartha Guild group at the Church.

Emma is survived by her son Terry A. Tattar, his wife Donna San Juan Tattar, her grandaughter Stacy J. Tattar, her grandson Matthew A. Tattar and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband John M. Tattar, and by her sister Suzanne (Hinlicky) Dower and her brothers Paul Hinlicky and Steven Hinlicky.

Visitation will be held on Friday June 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave. Greenwich. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 286 Delavan Ave., Greenwich, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY following the service.
