Gina Groccia, of Cos Cob, passed away on Nov. 23, 2013. She was 80.
She was born to the late Francesco and Bombina Ripenga in Acri, Italy on May 8, 1933.
She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Her favorite thing to do was cooking the cherished Sunday meals for her family.

Gina is survived by her daughters, Maria (Stephan) DeVita, of Stamford and Gina (Matthew) Wallace of Cos Cob; grandchildren; Angelo (Maura) Faugno, Ralph Faugno, Luciano Faugno, Maggie Wallace and Matthew Wallace Jr.; sisters, Rosa Bruno of Stamford, Antionetta (Santo) Groccia of Riverside, Maria of Italy, and her brothers, Pasquale (Viola) Ripenga of Stamford and Natale Ripenga of Italy.
In addition to her parents, Gina was predeceased by her husband Luciano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gina's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 306 Industrial Park Rd. Middletown, CT 06457.
