John F. Lamkin, 77; Contractor Who Served U.S. Marine Corps


John F. Lamkin, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, passed away Jan. 20, 2014.  He was 77.

He was born Oct. 23, 1936, to the late Fred and Madeline Lamkin.

After graduating trade school, Mr. Lamkin joined the U.S. Marines Corps and served from 1953 to 1956. After the military he went on to work as a general contractor. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid hunter and boater. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a talented craftsman.

John is survived by his loving wife Veronica, his children; Debra, Kimberly, and John and grandchildren; Brian, Jonathan, Jimmy, Justin and Ruby-Lu. 

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 25 at St. Mary’s Church, 178 Greenwich Ave. Burial will be private.
